Spring Open Burning Permitted on Saturday/Sunday April 5th/6th & 12th/13th ONLY! MUST Contact 543-5023 at least 24 hours in advance for PERMIT! Issued after a "Fire Safety Check" by Fire Dept and dispatch notification. The Fire Department will be on standby at the firehouse during these times. If it is TOO WINDY, we reserve the right to CANCEL the open burn.	Open Burning Safety Tips You MUST Notify 543-5023 Have a garden hose ready, have water buckets ready with shovels and rakes. Never use gasoline, kerosene or any other flammable liquid to start a fire because the risk of personal injury is high. Burn one small pile at a time and slowly add to it. This will help keep the fire from getting out of control. Select a location away from any utility lines.	Yard Waste Burning Policy Open burning is prohibited in Missouri April 15th to September 15th each year.During those months , we require Saint Mary residents to ONLY burn yard waste in a barrel with a grill cover to prevent burning debris from blowing out and starting a fire. Anyone who does not follow these procedures or if you have open burning without notification and permit, YOU WILL BE FINED!

New Flushing Schedule Do not use the water for laundry on: The 3rd Thursday of each month: February 21, 2008 after 10:00 pm Because the flushing does stir up the manganese for a short period of time and this will stain your clothing if they are in the washer during this time! Before you do laundry the next day be sure that the water is clear because the manganese will discolor your laundry. Biz will help to remove the stains from your laundry if used shortly after.
